This isn't the full idea of what I think he would look like, but its the basics.

Gloves and Jacket, because it's homage to Threeboot Lyle and it gives him more of the "wandering Legionnaire" look I thought he'd have.

Goggles, because the headband is just tacky, in an adorkable way. He'd probably cameo one in an episode for the fun of it. Plus, goggles scream 'SCIENCE' to me. Probably because we had to waste money on new ones for the lab every year in high school.

I like everything except the uniform itself. Gotta work on that.


It's fairly obvious I cant draw anything directly into the computer. Expect better work later.

As far as the uniform goes I say go with the Reboot version
mixed with the threeboot jacket. Otherwise, this is pretty awesome.

Considering how much the show deviates from the original Legion in both design and story, I paid homage to those two "boots" of the series, but I wanted it to look unique.

This was submitted back in 2008, so my design and plan for how he was worked into the Legion series has since been altered and finalized. I just haven't drawn anything to depict them as of yet.

I wanted Lyle to have a jacket, so I came up with an original one with a Legion symbol but in introverted colors so that it showed his slight seporation from the rest of the team.

My idea was that in Seasons 1 + 2, Lyle was away with a smaller Legion team [consisting of Sensor, Shadow Lass, Monstress and Wild Fire] on a long term mission. I didn't want him to be a new member who had to learn the ropes, but more as someone trying to find his place on the team again. This way he could still be witty, comfortable and fun loving like Reboot Lyle, while still having insecurities like Threeboot Lyle.


If you'd like, sure! The symbol on the sleeve is seen again but larger on the back.

It's actually Jaques in Dark Victory. He's the one in the cameo appearance. He must be working with the science police as a spy, Lyle.

So I have a project I'm building, a Season 3 comic.

Think you'd be interested in writing an episode that introduces Lyle?

I've only seen Jacques in the earlier episodes, I remember Lightning Lad runs into him when the beginning of the episode involves Legion tryouts for example. I remember thinking to myself "they can't accept him, they already have Lyle!" But I don't recall seeing him in Dark Victory, even though there are quite a few cameos. But then again, I've only seen the poor quality episodes on youtube, where as the DVDs have such glorious crispness that you can even see the characters mouthing "Superboy" when they say Superman. LOL.

I'm interested, for sure. I'll need to know some info about what you have planned already, of course.

Interesting idea... Perhaps he was there as a replacement for Lyle [who was away on a mission and maybe believed dead?], since Lyle was the one who invented the serum they both used to gain their abilities.

Oh! There he is! [How could I have missed that horrible yellow costume? *shudders*]
